Microsoft’s Eliot Graf sent an email to the public-html@w3.org mailing list on Wednesday proposing the removal of the canvas element from the HTML5 specification, instead moving it to it’s own specification.

Mozilla have released Firefox 3.5, which improves support for HTML5 with the inclusion of the audio and video elements, and support for canvas text. Mozilla have also introduced a new JavaScript engine called TraceMonkey, meaning your canvas demos will perform better than ever before!
