With its well-crafted UI and tight, efficient code… this is more than a “demo” — it’s a full, albeit task-specific) freestanding app!

Pekka, FYI it even works with Firefox v2.0.0.20
(You might consider incorporating excanvas to support MSIE)
In case you’re interested in further developing this app, here are a few suggestions:

– enable user to choose background color (applied via css to the underlying DIV)

– enable user to select & experiment with various “modes” (via a selector which changes the globalCompositeOperation )

Even works on iPhone! Sorta. IPhone has no method of differing between dragging around a web page and dragging on a web page. If you hold your finger down you will get a flower.
