Harmony

Ricardo Cabello (aka Mr Doob) has created this interesting procedural drawing tool called “Harmony”. Harmony allows you to sketch in a variety of different styles including spiderwebs, fur, ribbons, grids and circles.

There are many different drawing types to try

Comments from the Author:

During the process I found out that, for some reason (apparently lack of hardware acceleration), Firefox and Opera do not support context.globalCompositeOperation = ‘darker’. This was on the HTML5 spec before but got removed. Just so you know what I’m talking about, this is like the “multiply” blending in Photoshop.

Ricardo encourages developers to “take a look at the code, play with it and if you come up with a nice brush you think should be added to the default pack, please, send it over!”

Would be nice if you did a gallery. Between me and my brother, we’ve drawn about 20 drawings in the last 30 minutes! WOW, this is soooo gooood!!!

Hi Zuggle,

We’re very happy to start up a gallery at Canvas Demos to show some of the best drawings made with the app (or other drawing apps for that matter).

Drop us an email to gallery AT canvasdemos.com with the subject “Harmony” attaching your best images and I’ll get a gallery started up within the next couple of weeks.

Thanks,
Andi

I dearly wish that this gave us an actual path to the PNG file, rather than just the string in base 64. I would love to plug my creations directly into http://seadragon.com.

I made an iPhone and iPad version of this called Harmonious which has an integrated gallery into which you can upload your images. Check out http://harmoniousapp.com if you’re interested.
