Coverfire

Coverfire, by Jerason Banes, is a canvas remake of the Apple II video game Crossfire.

Navigate the intersections of your city picking up bonus objects and shooting the enemies that wait around the edge of the screen for the right time to attack. You can shoot in four directions independent to the direction you are moving. Once you run out of ammo, a crosshair item will appear, you need to collect this to get more ammo.

The controls are as follows:

  • Use the cursor keys to move left, right, up and down
  • Use W, A, S and D to shooot left, right, up and down
  • Use space to stop

crossfire fan

This is a nice job of coding. I played the original game back on the Apple ][. This version would be vastly improved if we could change the keyboard configuration! Please consider allowing that! (or at least reversing the movement to the left hand and shooting to the right hand).

For those of you who really love this game, keep an eye out for an eye-popping port of this game to the iPad. Complete with enhanced graphics, earth-shattering sound effects, and intense music to complement the fast-paced gameplay!
